Today is my birthday! I'm 21 y.o. now.

I celebrated my birthday in Andorra with my family! Next week, I'm gonna celebrate it with my friends.

I also received some lovely presents from my mother and her fiancé.

A wine tasting course

Also, since I never posted my 2016 New Year's resolutions, I'll write my 21 years old ones!

Thank you so much to those who read my posts!

◢ Book Review ◣ Amy & Roger's Epic Detour - Amy y Roger: 5000 Kilómetros para enamorarse

UK paperback edition

LUO TALKS:

I discovered this book nearly a year ago but I never felt in the mood to get it and read it, until now. Just before my finals week I decided to pick this book up to read it during my spare time (I'm kind of a kamikaze, I know). Must say I don't regret this decision; in a few days I've read one of the best books I've ever read. The story, even though it's simple, feels magnificient and exciting; as a reader, I feel I've been traveling through the US with them. I think all the minor characters are adorable, I've loved every single one of them, even Walcott! (except Hadley, she's kind of an asshole). What can I say about Bronwyn? Well, I've never read about such a generous character until now.
I loved this book since the beginning; I can say it's a great "feel-good" story.

Edición española - Plataforma NEO

LUO TALKS:

(Excepto Hadley, no he llegado a tragar a esta chica.)

I remember you (Ég man þig) ☁ READING APPRECIATION POST ☁

The last book I read last year was I remember you (Ég man þig) by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir and I enjoyed it so far! It was certainly one of my favourite books of the year. Let me say that this is not an appreciation post of the book (I'm going to write this one soon) but a reading appreciation of the book. This means I'm going to show you my experience with it. It has some pictures I took while reading it, some Goodreads updates that reflect my feelings and thoughts about it and there's also a song I ended up associating with the book plot.

Books I'll be waiting for - 2k16 ver

Last year was a great bookish year and 2016 does even seem to be better! These are the books that are gonna have a place in my bookshelf:

This is where it ends (5th January)
(synopsis by Goodreads)
10:00 a.m.
The principal of Opportunity, Alabama's high school finishes her speech, welcoming the entire student body to a new semester and encouraging them to excel and achieve.

10:02 a.m.
The students get up to leave the auditorium for their next class.

10:03
The auditorium doors won't open.

10:05
Someone starts shooting.

Told over the span of 54 harrowing minutes from four different perspectives, terror reigns as one student's calculated revenge turns into the ultimate game of survival.

LUO TALKS:
Since I first saw this book I've been waiting to read it and enjoy it. Its synopsis reminded me of the movie "Elephant" which is basically about two boys who go nuts and decide to kill everybody in their highschool (follow me for more great reviews lmao). I'll be most likely getting it for my birthday, which is this month's 24th.

Cómeme si te atreves (14th January)
(synopsis by Goodreads)

The Love That Split the World (26th January)
(synopsis by Goodreads)
Natalie Cleary must risk her future and leap blindly into a vast unknown for the chance to build a new world with the boy she loves.

Natalie’s last summer in her small Kentucky hometown is off to a magical start... until she starts seeing the “wrong things.” They’re just momentary glimpses at first—her front door is red instead of its usual green, there’s a pre-school where the garden store should be. But then her whole town disappears for hours, fading away into rolling hills and grazing buffalo, and Nat knows something isn’t right.

That’s when she gets a visit from the kind but mysterious apparition she calls “Grandmother,” who tells her: “You have three months to save him.” The next night, under the stadium lights of the high school football field, she meets a beautiful boy named Beau, and it’s as if time just stops and nothing exists. Nothing, except Natalie and Beau.

Emily Henry’s stunning debut novel is Friday Night Lights meets The Time Traveler’s Wife, and perfectly captures those bittersweet months after high school, when we dream not only of the future, but of all the roads and paths we’ve left untaken.

LUO TALKS:
Do I really have to say why do I want to read this book? I mean, read this synopsis, look at this gorgeous cover. I think this should be one of my birthday presents, tbh.

Thanks for the Trouble (23rd February)
(synopsis by Goodreads)
Tommy Wallach, the New York Times bestselling author of the “stunning debut” (Kirkus Reviews, starred review) We All Looked Up, delivers a brilliant new novel about a young man who overcomes a crippling loss and finds the courage to live after meeting an enigmatic girl.

“Was this story written about me?”
I shrugged.
“Yes or no?”
I shrugged again, finally earning a little scowl, which somehow made the girl even more pretty.
“It’s very rude not to answer simple questions,” she said.
I gestured for my journal, but she still wouldn’t give it to me. So I took out my pen and wrote on my palm.
I can’t, I wrote. Then, in tiny letters below it: Now don’t you feel like a jerk?

Parker Santé hasn’t spoken a word in five years. While his classmates plan for bright futures, he skips school to hang out in hotels, killing time by watching the guests. But when he meets a silver-haired girl named Zelda Toth, a girl who claims to be quite a bit older than she looks, he’ll discover there just might be a few things left worth living for.

From the celebrated author of We All Looked Up comes a unique story of first and last loves.

LUO TALKS:
After giving me one of my favourite books ever (We all looked up), Tommy Wallach comes back with this art piece which seems to be A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Fortunately, I won't have to wait much to get this book and I do really think I'll love it very much.

Summer Days & Summer Nights: Twelve Love Stories (14th June)
(synopsis by Goodreads)
Maybe it's the long, lazy days, or maybe it's the heat making everyone a little bit crazy. Whatever the reason, summer is the perfect time for love to bloom. Summer Days & Summer Nights: Twelve Love Stories, written by twelve bestselling young adult writers and edited by the international bestselling author Stephanie Perkins, will have you dreaming of sunset strolls by the lake. So set out your beach chair and grab your sunglasses. You have twelve reasons this summer to soak up the sun and fall in love.

Featuring stories by Leigh Bardugo, Francesca Lia Block, Libba Bray, Cassandra Clare, Brandy Colbert, Tim Federle, Lev Grossman, Nina LaCour, Stephanie Perkins, Veronica Roth, Jon Skovron, and Jennifer E. Smith.

LUO TALKS:
I've been pretty obsessed with this book and My true love gave to me so that's why I got this last one for Christmas. I'm still reading it and I have to say it's boring. I'm really disappointed about it because I expected it to be awesome due to the amount of fantastic authors it has in it and because I love Christmas stories. I know I can't have a solid opinion of it yet since I haven't finished it, but I don't think it will be one of my favourite books. Despite of that, I expect the summer one to be awesome so I'll give it a chance before moving to Japan.

Aarie (sine die) /Magonia #2/

LUO TALKS:
I read Magonia last summer and it was a slow reading but I ended up loving it and its characters so much. I can't talk very much about it because it will be a spoiler so if you haven't read Magonia yet, just do it before this beauty comes out.

Do you know any of these books? Did I make you want to read one of them? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Looking back on 2015

  • First of all,
  • Happy New Year
  • I found this tag on tumblr and I decided to answer all the questions in my blog since there was a notorious lack of entries last year. Here it goes!
  • 1:What did you do in 2015 that you’d never done before?
  • I finally got to participate in a cosplay contest for the first time with my best friend (*¯︶¯*) We did a performance about our favourite song from Vocaloid China (and from Vocaloid, actually) which is March Rain (三月雨). Unfortunately, nobody recorded it and we totally forgot to ask someone to do it, so we only have a few photos.

  • 2:Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No, I didn't keep them because they were never made XD My answer for the second question is yes! And I'm going to write them here in the next entry so I can look back to them at the end of this year.
